WOW HEY :)
This week TOTALLY FLIED.
SO FAST.

1. We have seen miracle after miracle in our area. its amazing to work here. We met a lady in the street named Shayel. I dont have strong felings usually that I should talk to people.. but we were walking and I had a distinct feeling.. "talk to her". She is from Roca. We got her direction and then went by her house and talked to her a little and explained a little bit more about what we as missionaries do and gave her the pamphlet of the restoration. We then passed by Saturday night and she promptly informed us that she had read the entire thing twice.. and proceeded to teach US lesson 1. With Joseph smith and everything. She explained to us the priesthood and what ordinances are and then gave the example of baptism. she also explained to us the holy ghost and we helped her realize that she felt it when she was reading and was feeling it with us right then. her only concern was that she didnt have a skirt to wear to church. WHAT. It was awesome. She isnt married.. but she has told us that she is and her husband have been thinking about it a lot lately. They have 3 DARLING little boys. I have never had a lesson like that. Her car is broken right now.. and her husband is going to fix it so she couldnt come to church.. but she said she would come as soon as she can. We invited her to be baptised.. and she said YES. but she made us promise that we would keep coming by and teaching her and helping her learn. She was amazing. It was a light. It was so cool. The spirit was thick.

2. LORENA and Emanuel came to CHURCH YESTERDAY. YAYAYAY. We went by in the morning and walked with them. A lot of the members didnt come.. we only had 22 people in total there.. but the spirit was strong. Hermana Murphy spoke and we also sang a musical number. it was fun. and good. I really hope that she was able to feel the spirit. She said she would stay for the whole time next week though. We have a slight problem though. So I dont know if I have exampained.. but basically the entire branch is one big family.. and they are going to brazil for vacation for 20 days.. TWO sundays.. and so no one is going to be in church... yeah.  We dont know what we are going to do.. because every priesthood holder will be out of town. its a problem. And it is such a bummer.. because we have SO many investigators that are on the point of coming to church. But I feel peace as I pray about the problem.. and I know that the lord is aware of all things.. and truly is in control.

3. We also had interviews with president this week. I love him so much. HE IS AMAZING. He goes home in July... so I will have a new mission president for about 2 months. He is from Chile. It will be weird to have a latino. I will miss Presidente for sure. I love him. He´s amazing.

4. We have the goal to talk to more people every day. We are literally talking to ANYONE in our paths. Its been awesome.. as we have seen the Lord put more and more prepared people in our paths. We are trying to be more creative in our contacts and do things that will catch peoples attention.

I love this work. Its been an amazing week.
Miracle after miracle. I cant believe its the last week with Hermana Murphy.
Next week I will know who my comp is.
Anyways.. I love you all SO much.
xoxoxo loves.

HEY FAMILY :)

What a great week it has been. To be honest.. it wasnt super eventful. We have just been contacting and talking to about everyone in the entire world. We should have a great week though coming.. because we will have lots of people to follow up with.

this week was HOT..hot hot hot.

no bugs entered my body this week (that I know of yet).. so thats a great thing as well.

Cristian and Lorena.. they mysteriously went out of town and didnt let us know.. so that was a bummer. They didnt come to church either. We walked by their house before church and they still werent there.. so that was kind of sad too.. but its okay.

We are moving forward with faith and doing everything we can to find the people who the Lord has prepared.
This week I focused a lot on being grateful and having a postive attitude.. no matter what happened. I learned this week.. that Satan works on me through my mind and feelings. When I get discouraged and bummed out.. he wins. I focused on being grateful.. and letting my attitude be affected because of my circumstances.
I loved being a missionary this week.

Man.. something funny that happened. We were praying about what area specifically we should go to, to contact for part of the day.. and we got there.. and as we turned on to the street that we thought we should go to.. there was 8 jehovas witnesses.. all gathered ready to go out. man. it was so awkward.. we kind of tried to stay away from them..because when we start contacting and talking to people ALL of them think that we are part of them. It was funny though. and then the SAME thing happened the next day.. in a different area. ANOTHER group. Man.. we just laughed and decided to visit another area for that morning.

We also met an awesome guy named Giyermo this week. He has lived in Switzerland.. and knows quite a bit of english. He is very interested in our message.. and kind of intrigued with us.. dangit. I dont know how to spell. sorry.

Anyways.. thank you for your prayers.

Time is FLYING here in Argentina. These people are amazing.. and the work is even better.
I love you all so much.

Hermana Ehlert and Hermana Murphy vs Bugs

So hey fam.
it's been a while :)

Well.. not too much has happened since friday. It has just been so unbearably hot you cant even imagine.
We had a lesson with Lorena Saturday morning.. and the wife of our branch president came with us. We just passed to explain church and what she could expect and then we invited her. She was so excited and said of course. We planned to walk by her house in the morning and walk with her and her son. So the next morning we walked by and she came out and said that she had been awake all night and that her baby was sick and had a fever so they were taking him to the hospital.. it was so sad. I was totally bummed that she wasnt going to be able to come. But I felt peace and knew that we tried.

Hermana Murphy and I have the goal to have atleast one baptism by the end of january. We are working and praying and trying to do everything we can.. to not only have a baptism but a convert. We really feel that they are so special. The only problem is, is that they aren't married.. so this week we will be talking to them about that. Please pray for them!!

Some other fun bug stories...
we got home sunday after eating lunch and hermana murphy was walking into the bathroom.. and she screamed. THERE WAS ABOUT 20 cockroaches in the bathroom. crawling all over EVERYTHING. I literally had never seen anything more horrifying. the bugs get worse when its hot and humid. I got the raid and a broom.. and hermana murphy had the other broom... and we just worked as a team. I would spray it and then it would start going crazy and then we would just start smacking it and screaming until it died.. then on the the next. it was terrible though. you wouldnt believe it.

We are the best team ever. Our mission president has started calling us "The party on wheels"... its so fun. We are having a blast.

Also another fun thing.. just an idea of how hot and humid it is. In our bedroom where we sleep we have air conditioning.. which is the BIGGEST blessing. (I dont know how people do it without)... but the rest of our house doesnt. and this morning I walked out of our bedroom with my glasses on.. and they totally fogged up.. hahha. it was funny. but pretty normal.

today we are in posadas because we have a meeting with the rest of the leaders in the mission tomorrow. That means we get to stay in the mission home tonight AKA.. taking a shower with warm water and not wearing shower shoes! HOLLA.

I love you all. I hope you have an amazing week. :)

ENJOY THE SNOW at home for me!

xoxoxo from half of the party on wheels.. aka
Hermana Ehlert

the worm that came out of my arm....... cuz i know ya´ll are dying to see it.

not even all of the cockroaches that we killed in about 15 minutes in our bathroom...

Just one of the beautiful sunsets I get to see every day

January 1, 2016

SO HEY FAMILY. :)
I hope you all had an amazing christmas. With lots of snow. And also an amazing New Years!
We have been travelling a lot out of our area because we have had meetings and divisions and devotionals for christmas.. but the Lord is blessing our area and our investigators. I will tell you about a family.. Their names are Lorena and Cristian. They have two boys. THEY ARE SO COOl.  We found them just contacting one day.. and since then have progressed. Their little boy.. Emanuel.. is 9 and is one of the smartest little boys I have best. He is such a gentleman!! He loves singing and learning new hymns with us. They are going to come to church this sunday and will hopefully accept our invitation to be baptized next week. I cant wait. I love them so much. She is only 25. Something that I have done with her.. I have pictured our lessons with them as if I was teaching Jordan and Greg.. and how much I would try and love them and try and help them in anyway I could to accept the restored gospel in their lives.

We had a zone meeting about that a few weeks ago. About loving the people.. and picturing them as if you were teaching your own family. It has helped me feel so much love for them.. and I know they have been able to feel the love of christ more through me. I am so blessed and lucky to be able to know them and be teaching them.
So claudio.. it has been a bit sad actually. Tomorrow was supposed to be his baptism.. but last week he started lying to us and telling us that he was going to be working and not going to be in his house.. but we would pass by anyways to see.. and he would be there. I felt really sad and disheartened. So we passed by and kind of told him that all of this is his choice and that if he didnt want us to come by anymore.. it was okay and he didnt have to lie. The spirit was actually really strong and we reminded him of the things and experiences that he had had and felt with us and at church. He told us that he is working a lot.. but if he has time and can work things out he will come to church. He seemed sincere.. but we will see. We are probably going to stop passing by him for a while until he shows a bit more interest. But its okay.. I felt peace that everything would turn out the way heavenly father wants and that we had put our part in and done our best. I felt heavenly fathers assuring peace that I had done my best.. and that not everyone will use their agency to accept this message. But I feel confident that it just wasnt his time right now.. but someday it will be. And we helped him feel something more in his life. and Im grateful for that.

OKAY.. so are you all ready for the grossest thing that you have ever heard in your life?!

So three and a half weeks ago.. I got bit on my arm by some bug. I thought it was just a mosquito or something.. its really common.. but a week and then two weeks passed and it wasnt getting better. And it was weird because it wasnt itchy.. but rather it actually started hurting really really bad.. and affecting my whole arm. It got a little swollen and was red. So wednesday morning it was really really hurting me.. so we called my mission presidents wife and she told us to come to the hospital in posadas to get it checked out. But first we had to go by the offices to pick up my medical card. So when we were there.. I ran to the bathroom quick before we went to the hospital. I had a bandaid on it.. because the bit had lots of pus and other liquids coming out of it all of the time.. I thought it was just really infected or something. But we were in the bathroom.. it was really hurting.. and so I took the bandaid off and there WAS SOMETHING COMING OUT OF IT. LIKE A white thing. I screamed and my comp went and got Hermana Lapierre.. my mission presidents wife.. and she came in. By this time I was bawling.. because I had realized that it was a WORM. Hermana Lapierrie got there.. and starting squeezing my arm like she was popping a zit or something. I bug started coming out more.. until it was about an inch long. I couldnt look. I was crying. Mostly because I was SO sicked out that there was a white fat worm coming out of my arm.. and also because it kind of hurt. By this time.. president lapierre and all of the mission office elders are in the bathroom watching what is going on. It was one of the most traumatizing things in my life. So thanks to the pressure of Hermana Lapierrie on my arm.. the bug actually came shooting out of my arm. Everyone jumped back and screamed. President picked it up in a little container thing.. and we all went to the hospital.. with me in tears because a bug had just come out of my arm. We got there.. and they told looked at it and basically laughed and said it was something really common here. it doesnt do anything apparently.. but just lodges and lives under the skin. They said it was good that I had a bandaid on it because that cut off the air to it so thats why it came out. They cleaned it really well and made sure there was any eggs or anything else left. So yeah. i had a big bandage on yesterday.. and its actually already doing a lot better today. The hole in my arm has healed over and my arm doesnt hurt anymore.

So yeah.. thats my update. CAN YOU EVEN BELIEVE IT?! I have pictures of the worm.. but I think I will spare you all.

So yeah.. thats my mission. Its awesome serving here in south america in the middle of the jungle.. where bugs get under your skin.. you sweat all day long.. and teaching people all about how christ knows us and knows our pains.. and one day we can live with our father in heaven and live with him.
I hope you all have an amazing week.. and that you all stay safe. Set goals for this year. Goals have changed my mission. I love my savior and I know he lives. I am so grateful for this time of year to think more about him.

I love you all. and am praying for you often!

Feliz Navidad

FELIZ NAVIDAD.

I dont have time to write this week because we will have play on
Christmas.. but we are allowed to get on and quickly write.

I love you all so much.

This week has been one of my FAVORITES in my mission. It´s so amazing to be a missionary a share about jesus christ in this special time of year. One of our goals as a companionship is.. as cheesy as it sounds..
Remember the REASON for the Season. Truly we need to take time and think about Christ and his life. I am so grateful for Him. For his birth.. and life. This week as I focused on remembering him at all times.. I was happier.. and felt an ENORMOUS amount of peace and gratitude in my heart. I am so thankful for my savior and the
opportunity that I have to represent him this christmas.

I love you all. I hope you have an amazing week.

Love,
Hermana Ehlert

December 14, 2015

SO HEY :)

Transfers are here!

Hermana Olvera is officially gone. Can't believe it!
She is going to byu and living in Liberty Square.. so all you people there.. look for her because SHE IS AWESOME. I love her. I am so lucky to have had this transfer with her.

So.. my new companion is Hermana Murphy. SHE IS MY FAVORITE. We have been friends in the mission for a while now. Actually since the first day I got to the mission I met her. SHE IS THE BEST. I can not wait. She is so fun and just great. She is ending her mission this transfer as well.. so that should be interesting. It means that I'll be staying in my area for quite a while I think. But I'm excited about it. I love my area.. and the people and just everything there.. so yeah.

I am so grateful for the transfer that I had. I can't believe we are almost as CHRISTMAS. Isn't that crazy?! To be honest.. here.. it doesn't really feel like it. It's just really hot.. and it's not as big of a deal to people here. But yeah. It should be great.

This month I have been studying about christ. and just learning more about him. It's changed my view on things and how I work. I think everyone in their mission hits a point.. where something just "clicks" and they are changed. I don't know. Where they are just able to connect the dots, and just kind of change. I think that happened for me this transfer. Not a specific moment or day.. but things just clicked for me this transfer. I have a different perspective.. and a different view on things. The work is more apart of me.. of who I am.. and what I am.. and not just something that I'm doing. Does that make sense?

This week we had an amazing lesson with Claudio. It's been the same experience with him.. that I had with Liz a few months ago in La Paloma. The spirit is just teaching him. Not us. And it's an amazing and incredible process to watch something learn so much and just change before your eyes. He understands and just learns in incredible ways.. and is so excited for this change in his life. He accepted a date of January 2 to be baptized and is excited.  I am so excited for him.

I am SO lucky to be an instrument in the hands of the Lord to help and find and search out people like Claudio. Who are just waiting and ready.

I love this work. And I love my Savior.. and I am so grateful that I have been called to represent him personally in this part of his vineyard.

Anyways.. sorry it's a shorter email this week.. I don't have much time.

I love you all though. Thank you for your prayers and support and emails.

And remember.. 2000 years ago a Savior was born.. and here we are still thinking about him and celebrating his birth. Remember him this week. He has changed the world.

love love love

December 7, 2015

SO HEY FAM BAM :)
What a crazy week it has been.
We started out the week doing divisions in a area called Apostoles with some hermanas that are in a trio. It was SO fun. I love being with other hermanas and working with other people.. and getting new ideas and stuff. its really fun.
Wednesday we had a miracle thing. We have been trying to get referrals from members.. and we got an awesome one on Sunday.. and wednesday we met up with a couple that are members and they drove us out to a family that they had recently given a book of mormon. They are the Gonzalez family.. and are amazing! They are just SO ready and prepared for this message. They are awesome. They live really far away.. like an hour walking from where we are.. but they are totally worth it if members cant drive us. But I will keep you updated on them. i am so excited for them.
Also.. update on Claudio. He is doing well.. we had two lessons with him this week. He said that he doesn't feel ready for baptism yet, but maybe in the future when he knows more. We will keep praying and working with him. He has his doubts about the apostasy and thinks that christs church was always on the earth and that if he really loved us he wouldnt take it off the earth. But he is awesome. He wasn't able to come to church this week because he had to work.. which was sad. Because that means he wont be able to be baptized before christmas. The rule in our mission.. is that someone has to attend church atleast 3 times before they can get baptized.. and he was our only hope for that goal.. but its okay. we will push on with faith.. and trust in the Lords time. But I know that goal that he set with faith helped us to find him and find others.
Something that is really funny that happened with him this week.. we were teaching him.. and we were on his porch outside.. and it was dark. And there was a light bulb right above us.. and we were talking about christ and his life.. and all of the sudden something GIANT swooped down and like attacking the light bulb.. I thought it was a bird at first.. but DONT WORRY.. just a bird sized MOTH. It was seriously HUGE. Like easily as big as my face. The body was enormous. I couldnt believe it. He ran inside his house and put a glove on and then proceeded to swat at it with his hand. Then Hermana Olvera started joining in on the swatting with the pamplet of the restoration that we were teaching with. I was just covering my head and freaking out. Finally claudio caught it.. and  threw it out. Oh my gosh.. I was laughing so hard after that. we all just laughed and laughed.. and then hermana olvera said to weave us back into the lesson.. Ï dont know if Christ ever had problems with bugs when he was teaching but...." and then continued. it was so funny. We laughed and laughed. BUT SICK RIGHT?! Yeah... thats what happens when you are literally in the middle of the rainforest.
I cant believe this transfer is almost already over. This is the last week. Hermana Olvera goes home next week and then I will have a new companion. President already told me that I will be in the same area.. but I am just anxious to know who my new comp will be.
anyways..  I AM SO EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS.
We are trying to spread the christmas cheer and spirit around.. because people here aren't as festive as they are in the states.
But it's okay. I love this work.. and my Savior.. and this special time that we have to think of our savior even more.
I love you all!
